Our Christian Philosophy

Hope Child Development Center believes each child is a precious gift from God with unique and special qualities. Our staff will work with children in an environment that will develop spiritual, social, physical, cognitive, and emotional growth through the incorporation of state learning guidelines, Christian principles and values, and morals taught at home.

Our philosophy regards parents as the primary educators and advocates in children’s lives and considers the development of the whole child within the context of his/her family and community. Parental participation is a valued component of our child development program. We further strive to meet the challenge of providing relevant, engaging, and diverse experiences that support the growth and learning of each child based on their individual strengths and abilities.

As the foundation of our education philosophy, we draw on the social constructivist theory of learning which emphasizes the collaborative nature of learning as well as the role of language and cultural context. As such, teaching and learning methods require a collaborative model that sees individual learning as essentially related to the success of group learning, language development, and cultural integration.

Our belief that all children can learn is represented in activities, routines, and practices that identify and nurture each child’s unique abilities and provide inclusive services for all children by supporting their full participation, and making accommodations when they are needed. Hope recognizes the value of including young children with disabilities in our programs and activities with typically developing peers. We believe the benefits for all children are considerable and that all children can grow in an inclusive, diverse environment. Hope supports all efforts to make every child an important part of our program.
